Anthony John Clarke, the singer-songwriter originally from Northern Ireland and now based in Liverpool, will be launching his 'Songbook' at a concert in the North Cheshire Cruising Club on Saturday, 27th February 2010, at 8.00pm. Having performed at Fairport's Cropredy Convention in 2008 where the crowds exceeded 20,000 he will be performing in the more intimate and exclusive environment of the NCCC clubhouse.  Anthony John will be performing with his band and will be supported by the vocal harmony duo 'jiva' from the north-east of England.  If you have seen Anthony John before then you will know just how good he is - if not, try his web-site www.anthonyjohnclarke.com for a taster.

Tickets are available for only eight pounds from Ian Bruce (0161 456 9620).

The following testimonial gives a hint as to his quality.

It was my pleasure to help arrange Anthony John Clarke’s visit to the United States last year. Often considered to be Ireland’s best kept secret, Anthony John always makes a lasting impression on audiences with his unique blend of music and humor. There was an expectant buzz in the air as we awaited his arrival, but nothing could have prepared us for the combination of insightful lyrics, beautiful melodies and rib-tickling humor that we encountered. As we sat and listened to the unending stream of 'hits’, we laughed, sang along and enjoyed. An Acquaintance of Mine? No. A friend of mine. And one secret I definitely will not be keeping.
